Species at Risk

Managing Species at Risk (SAR) in our community

In our community, we are helping Terrestrial and Aquatic Species at Risk by monitoring their presence.

Some terrestrial species we are looking into are:

Wood Turtle (Glyptemys insculpta)

Bank Swallow (Riparia riparia)

Little Brown Myotis (Myotis lucifugus)

Tri-Coloured Bat (Perimyotis subflavus)

Northern Myotis (Myotis septentrionalis)

Monarch Butterfly (Danaus plexippus)

Some aquatic species we are looking into are:

Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar)

Atlantic Sturgeon (Acipenser oxyrinchus)

American Eel (Anguilla rostrata) (kat in mi’kmaq)
